I hold a BA in English from Carleton College and a Master of Arts in Teaching from Colorado College and started teaching when Jimmy Carter abandoned his peanut fields. I currently live on the Big Island of Hawaii after exciting times in many other beautiful places, primarily in California. Currently my favorite authors are Richard Powers, David Mitchell, and Haruki Murakami. I am interested in telling good stories, true and otherwise, with themes that explore the social forces that blind us to our internal and external connections with nature. I am fascinated by the collective unconscious and the seen and unseen forces that influence human development. I believe that the exploration of the subconscious through art and meditation has as much to teach humanity about life as math and science.
